Post/Mastering notes: Dumped to Cool Edit in 32-bit mode. Manually removed some short bursts of distortion that looked like the band's mic limiter overloaded when Britt screamed into the mic at the end of J.Fisk and Loose (CEP click/pop remover); boosted 3dB with very tiny amount of limiting with Waves L1-UltraMaximizer+, which also dithered to 16 bits with their "Ultra" noise shaping.
THANKS to Ben (tour mgr) and Mary (house FOH) for the board patch.

This is an excellent show, with a good set list, and the band under control. Britt has given higher energy performances, but he sometimes gets too hyper to best put forth the songs. In this performance, he and the band are totally under control, but there's big energy, and this is a very well-recorded show. Wish this was on video. I'd watch it regularly.

Not much else to say - the band is ON this night, and they are completely stoked (as they mention, saying that it's the msot people they have ever played for headlining).
If you like spoon at all, get this show.

From top to bottom this recording rocks. The sound quality is nothing short of excellent. The performance showcases Spoon at its best. This one belongs in your collection.

I recently discovered Spoon and I'm glad to know they sound this good live. I'd recommend this show if you want to hear a good sample of what they can do. A very tasty group, good recording - they should be better known, so spread the word.

Beautiful recording of a great performance.
And I didn't even expect it to be that much fun, to be honest. My brother-in-law, who's opinion is rarely off-mark, had warned me that Spoon's last live show in Toronto had been a disappointment. However, it was at the start of their tour, and often it takes a few shows to find a groove.
I guess they found it, because the show was great -- super nice vibe for San Francisco and the band was genuinely stoked about playing such an historic venue. And they were awesome.
They had some nice departures from their records as well -- Small Stakes is a perfect live interpretation.
This was a great find, the recording is right off the board and top notch, and the show was one to remember.
